Weekly International Movie & TV Show News Roundup

This week’s roundup covers news from October 23 to 30, 2026: a strong opening for Clayface, a busy list of cinema releases, new trailers, streaming picks and casting updates.

Box office

Clayface led the domestic box office over the October 23–25 weekend, opening with $24 million across 3,458 theatres.

In second place, documentary You Can See Everything took $19.5 million in its second weekend. That was a 25% rise on its opening weekend, as the film expanded to 2,655 theatres. It has now become the highest-grossing documentary at the US box office in 15 years, passing Fahrenheit 9/11.

There are no major new wide releases expected to dominate this weekend, October 30 to November 1. That could give Clayface and You Can See Everything another chance to lead the box office.

New in cinemas this weekend

Several new titles arrive in cinemas on October 30, including The Mosquito Bowl, The Mongoose, Queen at Sea, Everest: The Other Side and Christmas at the Kringles.

The Mosquito Bowl is the headline pick: Peter Berg's Second World War drama, starring Nicholas Galitzine and Bill Skarsgård. It opens in select US theatres on October 30 before arriving on Netflix on November 25, so cinema-going fans get a first look more than three weeks early.

Music fans also have a concert film to look out for: BTS World Tour 'Arirang' in São Paulo. It brings a live music event to the big screen, making it a different kind of cinema pick among this week’s new releases.

If the film inspires you to add more music to your wardrobe, take a look through the Rock Universe Movies collection. Rock Universe has officially licensed band tees and other clothing for fans who like to wear their music taste.

Trailers

Netflix released a trailer on October 28 for its six-part Pride and Prejudice series. Emma Corrin plays Elizabeth Bennet and Jack Lowden plays Mr. Darcy. The series is written by Dolly Alderton and premieres on December 3. It’s one to mark in the diary for fans of Austen’s story and new period-drama adaptations. Read more about the series trailer.

The October 29 trailer for Cunk on Cinema offers a first look at a three-part mockumentary starring Diane Morgan as Philomena Cunk. Created by Charlie Brooker, the series premieres on BBC iPlayer and BBC Two on November 12, with Netflix to follow. The BBC’s announcement has more details.

Other trailers released this week include Bunker, Slayground, Tangles, Above the Below and Primetime Preacher$. There’s a mix of titles to keep on the radar, whether you’re looking for another trailer to watch now or a new release to follow.

There are fresh options across several platforms this week. On Netflix, the titles in the roundup include The One About Matthew Perry docuseries, SCTV: The Greatest Show You've Never Heard Of and Collision Course. SCTV and Collision Course arrive on October 30.

Disney+ adds The Gentleman Thief on October 30, while Apple TV premieres the crime-drama series Nocturne on the same date.

Looking a little further ahead, The Gilded Age returns for season four on HBO Max on November 1. It’s an early-week pick for viewers who want a new season to start after the weekend. For series-inspired clothing, take a look through the Drama (TV) collection.

Casting

Bill Nighy has joined Ascension, Alfonso Cuarón’s psychological horror series for Apple TV. He joins Caitríona Balfe in the cast.

There are also guest-star updates for The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins: Jane Krakowski and Scott Adsit will appear in season two.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is set to star in The Black Tapes, an eight-episode horror series for MGM+ based on the podcast. Production is due to begin in January 2027.

And Amy Madigan has joined the cast of Ascent, a thriller for Paramount+.

International

This week’s cinema slate includes a clear international music highlight: BTS World Tour 'Arirang' in São Paulo, a concert film among the releases arriving on October 30. Its appearance on the cinema list gives BTS fans a chance to make a concert film part of their weekend plans.

The rest of the new-release line-up spans a range of titles, from Queen at Sea and Everest: The Other Side to Christmas at the Kringles. With several films opening alongside the concert film, there are different options for a trip to the cinema.

For fans who want to carry their music interests beyond the big screen, browse officially licensed merchandise in the full Rock Universe collection, including band tees and other clothing.

Closing

Two dates stand out in this week’s TV line-up: The Gilded Age season four premieres on November 1, and Netflix’s six-part Pride and Prejudice arrives on December 3. Between those, Cunk on Cinema starts on November 12, with its BBC iPlayer and BBC Two launch.

At the cinema, Clayface and You Can See Everything are the box-office titles to watch after last weekend’s results, while new releases include The Mosquito Bowl and the BTS concert film in São Paulo.
